I was interviewed about my stint on the Obama campaign on CBC News. I cracked a joke on the air on the way Obama's citizenship is under scrutiny. Reminds me of every time I am asked "where am I *really* from?", as if being born 4km from Parliament Hill isn't Canadian enough. LOL! 2012_nov_CBCNN (27K)

I will take the long road to Michigan to work full time on the Obama for America campaign. Surely to be a learning experience.

Spring has sprung, but I'm already planning for the fall. A road trip to a Swing State is in the works -- there is an American politician I'd like to volunteer for... Maybe you've heard of him. #Obama2012

I enjoyed very much the NAC French Theater play, yet another triumph for Wajdi Mouawad! We bumped into Michaelle Jean in the hall afterwards. Still an inspiration!

I spoke briefly at the Candlelight Vigil - In commemoration of the March 11th, 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, organized by the Japanese Embassy. The Haitian-Canadian community is all too familiar with the anguish and dispair felt by our Japanese-Canadian brothers and sisters after the natural disaster.

In the 1980s, a world where the image of black women was often likened to negative stereotypes, Whitney Houton provided a living, breathing example of poise, elegance, style, grace, dignity and a professional prowess that empowered me to aspire to those virtues. Setting records (in 1981, she became the second black model to appear on Seventeen Magazine's cover -- a time where blacks were largely excluded from fashion magazines) and setting standards which have become the benchmark for all vocalists to come. Thank you Whitney! I will always love you!

I attended the municipal and federal launches of Black History Month, where two new stamps were unveiled. It is about time "Canada's Rosa Parks", Viola Desmond, get a national tribute. I am hoping a statue of her will eventually grace the nation's capital. I am also learning about John Ware , a black cowboy from Alberta who originated the event that would later become known as the Calgary Stampede. Oh ,how rich black Canadian history is!

Happy New Year all the way from El Salvador's capital! I just gave away a bunch of school supplies to a school in the Salvadorian capital. Hope the paper, pencils, crayons, erasers and pencil sharpeners will go a long way.
